The objective of this program is to provide drug abuse education and counseling services as an alternative legal action to first-time offenders. Participants are suggested to a PC 1000 program by the Court after pleading guilty and their sentence is suspended contingent upon completion of a program of drug education and counseling. Offenders who complete the program successfully and comply with all Court requirements are entitled to have their case dismissed,18 months after all requirements are met. The PC1000 program consists of 32 hours of education and counseling activities, self-help meetings, and random drug testing.
